Top 5 Players Rajasthan Royals can target in the Mega auctions

Rajasthan Royals who won the inaugural season of the IPL have not done much since then. They have retained skipper Sanju Samson for INR 14 crore, opener Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal for INR 10 crore and INR 4 crore respectively.

But a lot of quality players like Shivam Dube, Kartik Tyagi, Rahul Tewatia missed out from the retention list.

Here is a list of five player the Royals can pick in the mega auctions

1) Jofra Archer

Rajasthan Royals finished the 2021 edition of IPL at 7th in the table. The one-time winners got five victories from 14 games. The reason being their star fast bowler Jofra Archer who missed both the legs of the seasons due to an injury. The Englishmen picked up 20 wickets from 14 games in 2020 at an economy of 6.56.

Even though they did not retain the 26-year-old, RR would most probably go all in for the Englishmen.

2) Shivam Dube

The Royals have retained their both openers and skipper Sanju Samson. But the franchise would like to add Shivam Dube in order to strengthen their middle order. Shivam Dube has shown his power hitting capabilities in the past, the most recent being his unbeaten 64 run innings against CSK

3) Ravichandran Ashwin

Ashwin is not one of the players Delhi Capitals have retained ahead of the mega auctions. Therefore, it is an important opportunity for all the other teams to grab Ashwin in the auctions who is one of the most experienced spinners in the Indian team. Ashwin scalped seven wickets for Delhi in 2021.

Ashwin has also made a comeback to team India’s T20I team. He was included for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and the home series against NZ later.

4) Chris Morris

The South African all rounder is the most expensive player in the history of the IPL across all the seasons. He was bought for INR 16.25 crore in the 14th edition of the tournament. But his price tag was not justified by his performance. He played 11 games in which he scalped 15 wickets at an economy of 9.17.

But the 34 year all rounder has a lot to offer to the Royals. He has a total of 95 IPL wickets to his name.

5) Kyle Jamieson

RCB broke the bank in 2021 for the 27-year-old Kiwi pacer. They bought him for a whooping price of INR 15 crore. But his performance was just average when compared to the price tag. He played 9 games in which he scalped 9 wickets at an economy of 9.60.

However, the young Kiwi fast bowler has been sensational for his country. He has 54 test wickets to his name in just 11 games at an average of 17.1.
