The right arm fast bowler from Gujarat has established himself as one of the best death bowlers in the whole world. Jasprit Bumrah was exactly the type of bowler team India were in search for.
Jasprit Bumrah: Profile
Jasprit Bumrah was born in 6th December 1993 to a Punjabi family in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Bumrah played first class debut against Vidarbha in 2013. With his unusual action he troubled the batsmen by using variations from slower deliveries to reverse swinging Yorkers. Bumrah soon became a consistent performer in the domestic circuit.
The 19-year-old picked the limelight when he helped his side win the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. His figures were 3/14 in the final match against Punjab.
Bumrah was picked up by Mumbai Indians in the 2013 Pepsi IPL. In his debut match against RCB, he shocked the world by picking up three wickets for just 32 runs. But Bumrah did not get much game time in his first season at MI.
In the following season, Bumrah was retained by Mumbai Indians. Under the guidance of legendary fast bowler Lasith Malinga, Bumrah started to get his game on another level. He soon made himself a regular player in the playing XI. With a short run up and an unorthodox action, Bumrah surprised the batsmen with the pace he generated off his wrist.
By 2017, Bumrah established himself as one of the best bowlers of the team. He even surpassed Lasith Malinga when he was given the opportunity to bowl the super over against Gujrat Lions instead of the Sri Lankan legend. He defended only 12 runs with Brendon McCullum and Aaron Finch in the crease. He took his team to the finals of the tournament in the same year when he bowled a sensational spell where he just managed to pick up 3 wickets for 7 runs in three overs against KKR. Mumbai Indians eventually won the tournament by defeating RPSG in the finals.
Jasprit Bumrah has been retained by Mumbai Indians since then and has become the leader of the pace attack in the team.
Jasprit Bumrah: Age
As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Rishabh Pant was born in 1993 which makes him 28 years old currently. He started his IPL career at a very young age and is now one of it’s best bowlers.
