Ishan Kishan: Profile
Ishan Pranav Kumar Pandey Kishan was born on 18th July, 1998 in Patna, Bihar.
Ishan’s brother always supported and encouraged him to play cricket. Due to some registration issue with Bihar Cricket Board and BCCI, Ishan started playing for neighbouring state Jharkhand. Ishan Kishan’s biggest cricketing idol was MS Dhoni who belonged to same place he did.
Ishan grabbed the limelight by scoring a 273-run innings against Delhi in the 2016/17 Ranji Trophy season. This was the highest individual score by a player from Jharkhand. In the following season, he became the leading run scorer of the team with 484 runs in six games.
He was made as the captain of the U-19 team for the World Cup in Dhaka. Runs did not flow from Ishan Kishan’s bat during the tournament but team India did reach to the finals.
Ishan impressed with his batting skills while playing for Gujarat Lions in the 2017 edition of IPL. In 2018 IPL auctions, Ishan Kishan was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 6.2 crores. The young wicket-keeper batsmen scored 275 runs in 14 games.
Though his performance was not up to the mark but he was backed by the team management. In 2020, he became the highest run getter for Mumbai Indians scoring 516 runs in 14 matches.
In 2021, he got his maiden international call up to the Indian cricket team. In his debut T20I match against England he scored 56 off 32 deliveries. He made his ODI debut in the same year against Sri Lanka where he scored 59 off 42 deliveries.

Which teams should go for Ishan Kishan in the mega auctions and why?
Though he had some poor performances in the 2021 edition of IPL but the 23-year-old can still bag big bucks in the mega auctions. Teams like CSK, SRH and KKR might break the bank to acquire the services of Ishan as it would strengthen their middle order.
The top order wicket keeper batsmen is a young and talented cricketer and has shown consistent performances in the IPL so far. The youngster who has recently made his debut for team India has a bright future ahead. The young Indian cricketer has scored half centuries in both his T20I and ODI debut. The 23-year-old is an aggressive batsman who can bat in the middle order and can go for some quick runs when needed.
