IPL 2022 Player Retention

IPL 2022 player retention window for the Indian Premier League is closed on November 30, 2021.

The existing eight team’s franchises were eligible to keep 4 players with a maximum of 3 Indians, 2 overseas players and 2 uncapped Indian players.

All eight team’s franchises have used the Player Retention option.

Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians opted to retain 4 players each.

Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad retained 3 players each while the Punjab Kings retained 2.

PBKS has the highest fund available at INR 72 crore while Delhi Capitals has at least INR 47.50 to be used at the mega auction. Other teams have close to 50 crores in their purse to spend.

Out of the total 27 retained players, 8 are overseas and 4 are uncapped India Players.

New team Lucknow and Ahmedabad hold full credit of 90 crores in their purse to buy 25 players to build their first-ever squad.
